Knicks Coach Resigns While Under Fire From Superstar And Fans

Mike D'Antoni Out For The Count

In the end, not even Lin-sanity was enough to save coach Mike D'Antoni's job.

Jeremy Lin, after leading a six game winning streak wit  a team of "scrubs",  almost helped Mike D'Antoni dodge the bullet, but a disheartening six game losing streak with the return of superstars Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire and the addition of JR Smith to the lineup led Mike D'Antoni to pull the trigger himself, with Dolan's consent, and resign as head coach according to a report by Yahoo! Sports and confirmed by NBA.com.

Actually, D'Antoni's departure was less a surprise than him hanging around for so long..  It was obvious when the season began, with the departure of Donnie Walsh and the hiring of Mike Woodson as a "defensive specialist" that Mike D'Antoni was on a very short lease (not leash, lease).  Reportedly, D'Antoni had rejected the Chicago job because the owners wanted him to allow the hiring of a defense specialist to supplement his "offensive genius."  Instead he took the New York job knowing that the first couple of years would be spent restructuring the team to lure a particular free agent -- a move that flopped and resulted in the acquisition of Amar'e Stoudemire to avoid coming up empty handed in the free agency period.

The death knell was probably sent when Mike D'Antoni sat Carmelo and Stat for the fourth quarter of the Bulls game without explanation.  A frustrated D'Antoni even failed to use the back-to-back game-need-to-rest-my-stars-excuse.  Certainly, Carmelo did not appreciate being benched in front of the home crowd and D'Antoni was finally determined to exercise some leadership.  However, apparently his poor communication skills, which have been on display his entire tenure, finally caught up with him and forced his hand.

Dolan is committed to Carmelo Anthony.  he was not committed to D'Antoni who was in the last year of a five year contract.

Tonight the Knicks will be coached by Mike Woodson.  It will be very interesting to see how he plays his stars and Jeremy Lin since D'Antoni seemed to find the right combinations.

BRACKETOLOGY 2012

Yahoo! Sports Tournament Pick'em

LET'S DO THIS FANATICS. WATCH OUT FOR THE SLEEPERS! CHECK YOUR EMAIL.

It’s just sitting there, blank and full of possibilities, open to any permutation your little heart desires. Everyone and their brother fills one out, but your bracket is special. It represents your gut feelings, your carefully crafted March Madness theories. When it’s done, you sit back and admire it, sure that this is the year you nail virtually every pick.

But something inevitably goes wrong.

That Cinderella never dances. That sure-fire Final Four team goes ice cold. Nobody guards the f*cking inbounder in a late-game situation.

Yes, it all goes to pot and someone’s girlfriend, who made her selections based on which mascot was the most ferocious, wins the your pool. LOL

TIME FOR D'ANTONI TO GO AND TAKE LIN WITH HIM.

Written by Peaceman on .

Jeremy Lin struggled on Sunday against the 76ers, finishing with 14 points on 5-of-18 shooting to go along with seven assists, three rebounds and six turnovers. His poor shooting eclipsed his usual heavy turnovers. Lin also led all Knicks in FG atempts .. 18 while Melo had but 13, Amare had but 9.
TEBO II is now more written in cement than the flash of linsanity that is now offically a fluke.

Low IQ fans along with a bias Anti- Melo & Amare Media are blind to the truth that LIN is more TEBO than not.

How can a PG take horrific shots such as lin and remain on the floor is beyond reason. LIN throws the ball at the rim rather than shoot.
How is it allowed that he takes more shots then anyone on the Knicks? Lin has proven he can't guard anyone with a pulse in this league.
But the hype lives on to the  point of destruction of any chance this team has to move forward.

Don't worry knick fans with a clue. It will all be over tonight after the BULLS demolish LIN for DANTONI'S LAST GAME.
What took it so long to happen is a topic for debate after the BULLS  game.

MELO NEEDS TO BE MELO.

Written by Peaceman on .

The ass that cost NY the Bucks game?

This offense is not conducive to Melo's skill set. The point guard and power forward are the main DNA of MDA. Melo is basically relegated to being a role player in the offense. Melo isn't a catch and shoot guy.
Notes from the last Mav's game. The ball stayed on one side of the floor at least 4 possessions in a row. Melo didn't even touch the rock. Melo doesn't have to shoot every time down but he at least needs to touch the rock to get in some sort of rhythm.

To show you a difference of offensive philosophy, let's look at the last game we played against Dallas.
Dirk was 1-9 at the end of the 1st half but the Mavs kept giving it to him every time down just to get him in rhythm.  Low and behold he started to get a rhythm.

We are the only team I note that don't feature our best players in our offense. Everyone is on the same level in the offense. And we as fans and the media can't have it both ways. When we win its the team when we lose its the superstars fault.

My only thing to Melo is you sir have to play better. Forget what the media writes and play your game. You can tell he doesn't want to shoot too much because of the fear of being labeled "selfish".
Play your game, if you're going to struggle at least do it knowing your out there being yourself. But I'm not worried they will get it together.

BTW....  if that really nice azz that JR tweeted about is truly the reason why we lost the Bucks game, than blame no other than the ADMIN of this blog for giving JR such ideas. Check out our photos of the LBE'S when we are losing badly. JR was trying to raise team moral.
