After dismantling the world Chump Heat... the make up of this Knick team will not be taking nights off as they have done under past coaches. The depth of this team
is plain out scary. Philly has no chance of even making this game competitive. The quality of our bench will keep each starter on their toes.. every night. Rasheed Wallace has been the most overlooked piece of our roster since his signing. Keep in mind Sheed just turned 38. He's younger than Kirt Thomas ( who plays 10 years younger than his age) younger than Jason Kidd and Camby. Rasheed's size, shooting ability and defensive presence brings chills to think of him putting 15-20 quality minutes per night at the 4 or 5. In the past the Knicks would most likely have a drop off game considering the thumping we just gave the Heat. Not this year. An argument can be made that our entire roster could possibly be starters on other teams in this league... including the man who made the final cut ..Chris Copeland.
Thank God the Creator our family members Lives and Post up and their family's are safe. With that being said, we have something so special this year it hurts to see our Fanatics for life missing in action for this breath taking ride the Knicks are going to give us this year. I taped the Heat game and noted that defensively Brewer, Melo and JR Smith both put Wade and Lebron in check. In fact the rewind showed 6 times JR stopped both James and Wade from driving to the lane with hard nose defense. He is a badass on both ends. Melo's body looks like he just got drafted from The CUSE. Felton's body looks like a clone of him playing for North Carolina. So many good things happening for the Fanatic family. O&B has just become a first time father to a beautiful baby girl and will always remember this year as special due to his fatherhood and the Knicks winning the chip this year. One blessed man. Props to Cooley high for keeping our Spirits up and bringing hope to keep our blog running. Props to Steady for being " Steady."
Hope all of you turned back your clocks so you will not miss a moment of today's thumping of the Sixers! Hoping all of you can chime in during the game or even blog in real time. I am bursting with excitement and realistic expectations of a Championship, the knowledge of all the Fanatic family are safe and in good Spirits. Here is something to think about. WE HAVE A EXCELLENT CHANCE OF GOING ALL THE WAY THIS YEAR. MELO BEING MVP. COMEBACK PLAYER OF THE YEAR IN RASHEED WALLACE , ROOKIE OF THE YEAR IN EITHER COPELAND OR PABLO, MOST IMPROVED PLAYER OF THE YEAR IN JR SMITH, DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR IN CHANDLER OR CAMBY, COACH OF THE YEAR IN WOODSON, AND SIXTH MAN OF THE YEAR IN BREWER,NOVAK, KIDD OR AMARE...yes I said AMARE!
HAVE A BLESSED DAY FANATICS...HOPE TO E-SEE YOUR COMMENTS OR BLOG IN REAL TIME TODAY AT NOON!
Knicks win over Sixers was impressive in term of ball movement and intensity on D at key points. Melo seems on a mission to elevate his game and team to a new level of success. JR played solid game and has shown better judgement on shot selection and decision making. J. Kidd's experience and savvy is proving to be a wise free agent signing. Nevertheless, Philly was without Andrew Bynum and Jason Richardson--injured at the start of the game. Jrue Holiday has clearly improved his overall game, especially his outside shot from beyond the arc. Sixers are athletic and well coached. When Bynum returns, Philly will have a respectable and competitive team that could challenge Nets for playoff spot.
Knicks have a chance to pick up a road win tonight but Sixers will want redemption in front of home town fans. LGK
Hell chaps! Great win 2-0 to start the season and doing it with defense, ball movement and without the full assortment of key players- Shumpert, STAT, Camby. This coach has more gravitas and pull with the group conjured up before him than the Phony and his gimmicky novelty - now in Houston. I love it when the Knicks roll out- and ROLL UP- their human victory blunt. Rashee- the weed- Wallace!
Stay safe bro's I'm down for LBE's on weekend games- mostly Fridays. If anyone else is down for that I'll make myself available. Cheers!
Missed game today--family obligations, but recorded it so that I can watch the playback. Will give you my reactions once i see it all. I never mind watching wins after the fact even though I know the final score. A Knick Fanatic knows no other way to live.
SIXERS Blog Highlights!
"The key would be stopping Melo. Melo is their ONLY scoring threat out there. Hopefully, Thad, Dorell and ET can give Melo a hard time scoring."
"Lavoy on Tyson Chandler: Holy mismatch"
"Thad on Melo is a huge mismatch in favor of Melo"
"When did the Knicks learn to move the ball?"
"Sixers should slow it down and wait for half the Knicks roster to die."
"I hate Novak."
"When will the Knicks 3pt% finally regress?"
"Maybe seeing what Melo does to us before and after Iguodala will convince people he was important?"
"But the defense as a whole has been very bad. Gotta say though, the Knicks’ spacing is really impressive. They did this against (a half asleep, but still) Miami the other night. They are so much better with Melo at the 4."
" I agree with melo being better at the four simply because he causes match up problems from that position, is a good passer out of double teams as well."
"Personal dislike aside, I think the Knicks are a pretty good team that has a chance to be special. Their weakness last year was injuries + PG play. And Melo at the 4 creates a mismatch at that spot plus it opens up the 3 for another perimeter shooter."
"The MSG broadcast is actually not that bad"
"JR Smith has nights like this every once in a while just hits EVERYTHING. When he was with the Nuggets seemed like every week or 2 I’d look at the scoreboard and see that Smith had dropped like 37 or 41 or something with 7 3s."
Thanks for the update on La Familia. Jehovah/Allah is GREAT; in Him there is no failure.
Reading and dissecting the box score from today's Philly beat down provided prima facia evidence that the NYK is a "SCARY Team". Before the ballers and bloggas get a HEAD (High Expectations AND Delusional) about the season, lets look at what gets these wins. Smart guard play (as broken down by Cooleyhigh), sharing and caring for the ball, and playing winning ball by not making silly fouls and team defense. Relegating teams to become jump shooters is a great formula for success. Where's JayBee, the No-Layup advocate? This was a great win and let's hope Woody keeps keeping guys accountable and the future clipboard holders Xs&Os cats (BoomDizzle, JKidd, Kurt, Pablo, et al) keep doing what they've been doing since Summer. Shout out to STAT for ALL that you're doing for the TEAM.
Two games and Earl is the sixth pearl coming off the NYK bench. When banks open in the Peace neck of the woods, go to the safe deposit box and get the papers to PUP's ranch Peaceman and Quit Claim Deed it back to him. For Peace sake, if STAT could forego ego then so shall Earl the 6th Pearl off the NYK bench.
BYNUM IS NOT PLAYING, HOWEVER, IT WOULDN'T MATTER IF HE WERE!
LGK...another blowout win predicted. The Knick win by more than 15 points!
Listen Woody's post game speech? He was praising JR and stated
" We have to put in in a better position to succeed. Would that be Code for starting him? JR played one hell of a Game today!
@Peaceman Knicks win by 16. You are prophet and visionary. Keep it up and I might wager a few pesos on Knicks' beating the point spread in future games.
@Peaceman Could not listen to the Woody Show. What says that JR was not in a position to succeed today? He helped the team WIN and was an alternate scorer besides Melo. These guys are volume shooters and will both jack an avg 30/game.
Peaceman may not pay the loss bet. But Peaceman lost the bet. JR Earl Smith is the Sixth Pearl in NY until STATS decision comes in December.
Steady as IT goes. We got this.
@Peaceman What if shooting more upsets the chemistry/shot balance? Can Melo handle Earl shooting more? What if the shots don't drop? What about riding the hot hands? Reading those nuggets from the Sixers Blog indicates that those Philly dudes know what's good. AND they have determined this team is SPECIAL with MULTIPLE scoring threats/options. Imagine coming off the bench with a serviceable big that can stretch the floor on offense wither with PUs, PnRs or treys? That's 'Sheed. Play smart. Share the ball and take care of your bodies. Let the pups play when there are big leads so to preserve old bones when we have (for a change DDLs as opposed to the DDDs during the last phony Xchecker tour at Mecca). Sadly, the LBEs AND the pics of buxomous babes will be retired this year due to the eradication of DDDs with this squad. We GOT this!
@Steady JR had 20 points 8 rebounds but woody wanted him to shoot more. That's what Woody said in the post game interview!
@Steady Earl will be the starting PG. Dock it!
