Lakers Fire Mike Brown. Mike Dantoni and Phil Jackson lead as the next head coach. It doesn't matter as Kobe's reign is done. WELCOME THE MELO MVP ERA!

Written by Peaceman on .

What a difference a year makes. Please LA.. hire Mike Dantoni.....see how long he lasts.

Does Kobe need to hear "Let's Go" or hear Phil Jackson's trianular offensive talk? Neither!

Asking a 1-4  squad that's old (Gasol, Antawn Jamison, Metta World Peace), less-than-100-percent (Howard) or both (Kobe and Nash) wouldn't seem to be the best solution. Inherent in the job description of any Lakers head coach, Mike Brown or otherwise, is a mandate to keep the team's stars fit and energized for a deep playoff push.

Not exactly something to which sprinting up the hardwood is conducive.

Keep in mind, too, that pushing the pace under D'Antoni requires depth. Without a reliable bench on which the coach can lean, those in the rotation are likely to be depended on so heavily as to leave them all depleted, if not ground to a pulp, by season's end.

And last I checked, the Laker's bench has one of the worst benches in the NBA (viahoopsstats.com). Opting, as the Lakers have done, for the top-heaviness of a Fab Four can only afford a team so much leeway to build depth.

As a result, the Purple and Gold must count on the likes of Jamison, Steve Blake, Devin Ebanks, Jordan Hill and Jodie Meeks (not exactly star power) to fill in the gaps when Kobe, Nash, Gasol and Howard aren't on the floor.

Not exactly a recipe for success if your team needs to shuffle guys in and out of the game.

Well it's the Knicks time to shine. Tonight they will go 4-0 on their way to a 12-0 start. Suddenly the Knicks are no longer the joke of the NBA but the feared team to beat! We are both the Hunter and Hunted.  Expect another blowout Knick win at the Garden tonight. My, my things have changed.

What they do does not matter because the other teams do not have the length and depth of our side.

Woody has done an excellent job but the difference makers are JKidd and Ray Felton. All Woody has needed to do is keep IT real and Steady as enforcer of team values for team goals. Anyone who has ever laced 'em from canvas Converse to leather Adidas to plastic Nike know that the pass outpaces the defenders. Share the ball and you will see beautiful things happen. So far, we are on a roll.

The biggest surprise so far is the MSM embrace of our side albeit early in the season. Never imagined not seeing bombastic hyperbole from The Grill, Boils and a$$ola. Steady but surprised.

Good Morning my Fanatic Brothers and Sisters.  I hope this post finds all of you well and in Good Spirits.  A Special Shout Out to our crews in NJ/NYC/CT/DE/MD, and pray your Lives are returning to normal and your damage is minimal.

Steady as A Rock, I concur with your statements on decorum and conduct.  As a life long Fan, I do understand Passions can run Hot and High, but Respect for one another should be a given.  As one who can Flick at the drop of a hat, it is not the wise course in Human Interaction.  The Drum has been beaten and i will move along.

So far, our Beloved Knicks are off to a great start.  IMHO, at this juncture, the team's MVP is WOODY -MANGO...  He's grown as a coach from his stint in ATL and his ability to reach players and get the best out of them is a special talent.  Obviously, being a former player gives him Street Cred, but at the moment, this TEAM has bought into the concept of TEAM  meaning TOGETHER EVERYONE ACHIEVES MORE.  And, promoting that concept and making it a reality is much easier with a Veteran Laden Team, then a Young Team, with Egos running a muck and Personal Agendas getting in the way, because players are establishing careers verses putting exclamation points on careers.

Hats off to WOODY - MANGO and GRINDY - GRUND for building a team that is working as ONE!  OF course, I know it is early, and the true test will be how they respond to adversity.  But so far, I like what I've seen.

All the Best Fanatics!

Keep it POPPIN!

Steady says that Blog Hosting and Admins must hold themselves to a higher order of behavior and exchange. Otherwise, they will suffer the fate of KnickDefense where crickets rule. The Blogga ends up writing for him/herself and the Internet archives. It has been posted here in the past...you tell on yourself by the company you keep. Useless blog friction, virtual attacks and negative exchanges among posters are symptoms of bad company.

And to think...we're WINNING. Imagine if we were 1-3 with 2 consecutive losses?

Ya'll know what's good.

@Delshay Respect reciprocated Delshay. The blogosphere is notorious for cyberthugs from safe confines of basements. Superstore Sandy flushed some up but not out. Thus we must endure the power outages and live with the rodents now themselves displaced from the doldrums of the trip-City still the best place on Earth.

D'Amphony and  "La La Land" deserve each other.  Like most Hollywood marriages, this one, if consummated, should spark some initial fire in the Lakers, but then burn out quickly--perhaps in seven seconds or less.

Knicks blogs once were a place to discuss basketball. Now its where idiots make absolute predictions, and say "I told you so" after only 3 games.I have been a huge Knicks fan since 1966,and always enjoyed a good convo about where the team was heading, orwhy a certain play worked(or didnt)etc. Now i can barely read these things without clenching my teeth. You guys are so over the top and childish,it almost makes me root against my favorite team in all of sports.Start talkin real hoops or just STFU.Youre ruining what is starting out to be a fun season
