It seems that Stephon has proved many Knicks fas wrong after they criticized Marbury for his insistence that he would go to China and become a star. He seems to have found great success, happiness and a new basketball home in China as he and his huge new fan base embrace each other. Stephon, known as Ma Bu Li in China, has led the Beijing Ducks to a 2-0 lead over the defending Champions Guangdong Tigers in the CBA Championships which continued today at 7:45 am ET. The fourth game will be held n March 28th in Beijing, also at 7:45 ET. It can be seen on www.firstrowsportseu.com.
Aaron Brooks, who signed a big contract with the Tigers as a restrictive free agent after his rookie contract expired, leads Marbury's opponents who were favored to win the CBA championship. Aaron Brooks, who is averaging 21.2 ppg, 4.7 assists, 1.9 steals and has 84.9 free-throw % and is second in 3-pt % (41.6) and third in field-goal % (54.0), is expected to return to the NBA at the end of his contract after the CBA concludes. He may not sign a new NBA contract until July, but Marbury is expected to stay in China and continue to enhance his growing brand.
Earlier this month, Marbury seemed to relish D'Antoni's abrupt and unceremonious departure from the Knicks which he predicted long ago. In a twitter moment, he called D'Antoni a "coward" and used the hashtag #DANPHONY. He sounds so much like a fanatic, doesn't he?
Some people do stupid shyte behind the excuse that they didn't ask to be role models.Surprise! It comes with the big money and hype YOU DID ASK FOR!Nice to see that some people have no problem seeing the difference between right and wrong.Unfortunately Dolan and Co. can't be counted among them.JLinn may not be a Knick 4ever, but it is refreshing to see a professional athlete you can point at and say try to be a little more "like".Being a parent is tough. Thanks for the boost Jeremy, and my compliments to your mom and pop.
"Federico, who began his career at ESPN as an intern in 2006, told the Daily News last month he was “devastated that I caused a firestorm” and expressed his desire to explain himself to Lin.
On Tuesday, it appears he got that chance.
Federico told Newsday the two discussed everything from their shared Christian faith to the point guard’s knee injury.
The headline, he told the paper, was an afterthought.
“The fact that he reached out to me,” Federico said. “The fact that he took the time to meet with me in his insanely busy schedule. . . . He’s just a wonderful, humble person. He didn’t have to do that, especially after everything had kind of died down for the most part.
Like him or hate him, however, Marbury is making $$$$$$$$$ and don't have to deal with the Venom of the NY tabloids. I wish him continued success! Just ease up on the Vaseline.
@Peaceman That's the old pre HOF Charles. He's on record reversing that old BS.The New Charles takes responsability....occaissionally.
