THE FACE OF GREED
James Dolan is holding a gun to the heads of Millions of Time Warner Cable customers! Manhattan-ites cannot watch a promising Knick team after all these years of "Chucking and Sucking." Here's the basic breakdown of the breakdown: MSG Networks removed its sports channels from Time Warner Cable lineups this morning, depriving New York sports fans of many of the Knicks, Rangers, Islanders, Sabres and Devils games. It is the second time in 15 months that MSG Networks has done this to New York-area fans, having removed their channels from DISH Network subscribers in September 2010.
“We had a deal within reach earlier this year,” said Mike Angus, Senior Vice President, Content Acquisition, for Time Warner Cable. “Despite agreeing to the asked for 6.5% price increase on rates that MSG themselves deemed as fair market rates just last year, MSG reneged on the deal and instead, demanded a whopping 53% increase and refused to negotiate further."
I believe Dolan will lose big on this as I have contacted Direct TV and will drop TWC if services are not restored within 48 hours! Dolan will lose because I will only
watch MSG when no other option is available. NBA league pass? Not an option due to every Knick Home game being "Blacked out." My soul purpose is to not miss one Knicks game. However, ESPN, TNT and NBC will carry 40% of the Knicks remaining games. When they do MSG will not be on my Screen. I amjust one voice of NYC'S Millions who will follow my very path. As far as Going to the Games in the Garden? Even though I can secure free tickets..I will not spend one dime in the Garden of Greed. I can see the "Worlds Most Famous Arena" moniker changed forever to "The GARDEN OF GREED." Even if your not a Knicksfanatics Blog Member,
PLEASE STOP BY TO VENT YOUR ANGER IF YOU'VE BEEN LOCKED OUT AGAIN THIS SEASON DUE TO JAMES DOLAN'S GREED!
We need to take to Twitter EN MASSE and we need a catchy hashtag. I think #FansRights is good because it's a #FansRight to be able to watch these games. Read: http://www.ohdigitalmedia.com/?m=1
Cablevision is out to make the dough which his board wants him to do. Make a profit! Like the failed attempt by Verizon to make customers "pay-to-pay", cutomers must Steph up and speak with their customer discretion/choice in an organized manner. Verizon will not be the last to sneak in abusive fees onto customers. Stay vigilant.

If you have Time Warner Cable, you can access the Knick games next week by tuning in to NBA TV [Channels 401 - 410] which is being offered free between January 1 and January 8, 2012. Thus, the four games which the Knicks play between those dates include:
Monday Jan . 2 Knicks vs. Toronto 7:30 PM
Wednesday Jan. 4 Knicks vs. Charlotte 7:30 PM
Friday Jan. 6 Knicks at Washington 7:00 PM
Saturday Jan. 7 Knicks at Detroit 7:30 PM
For Time Warner Cable subscribers, like me, perhaps you want to hold off before switching to FIOS or Direct TV--which could take two or 3 weeks, if not more, to arrange a set up installation as well as the inconvenience of notifying Time Warner Cable and arranging for them to pick up or for you to return the cable box or DVR converter etc. In the interim, i.e. between Jan. 1 and Jan. 8, we can hope that the parties (MSC and TWC) will reach an agreement and restore MSG service to TWC subscribers.
If no agreement is reached by January 8, 2012, the next option to consider--if you want uninterrupted access to Knick games [Knicks play Charlotte at MSG on Jan. 9th] is to buy NBA League Pass for the season--which costs $169.00 a year.
Though I would pay for MSG as a premium channel, I also see Dolan as the greedy one here. Perhaps Jimmy wants to extract from Time Warner the $14 million he owes to Chauncey Billups as part of the amnesty transaction. Remember that the team which amnesties a player must pay his salary, even though that salary is not counted against the cap. Also Dolan has to absorb the big contract awarded to Tyson Chandler. Jimmy D wants a winning Knick team but doesn't want to absorb the entire cost; thus he will ultimately get from Time Warner a "max" contract so to speak, and Time Warner will pass the cost on to us---the 99% who can't afford to buy season tickets at MSG courtside. Follow the money and see if I am wrong.
Dolan is a real prick isn't he? First I thought that he was just a bafoon. I don't know why he would want to do something stupid like that. Wtf does he want to do? Start a riot? I mean I think that he is overselling this Knick team and it's gonna to be to his detriment.
@Post_up_Prince PUP..all Knick Home games are "Blocked out" with NBA league pass! Which is the same with NBA passin all markets! I have NBA league Pass at my place in ATL, however, every Hawks home game is Blocked out.
@slapdoghoops LOL you changed from "Bafoon" to a real prick? LMAO.... you made my day!
@Peaceman Evidently, I was given misinformation from Time Warner. I guess I can only see the away games--Knicks at Wizards on Friday, 1/6 and Knicks at Pistons, Saturday, 1/7 on NBA T.V. I will likely cry, scream, tear my hair out and stamp my feet until a deal is made or I get fed up and opt to switch cable providers.
