HERE'S YOUR STARTERS for 2012-13. Does History repeat itself? In 1972-73 the Knicks won their second world Championship. THIS IS OUR YEAR.
Bloggers drooling over Howard joining the Lakers. FOOL DROOL. They can't steal our thunder. Howard has yet to even run after having the same back surgery Larry Bird had
that shortend his carreer. KOBE and Nash are not 2002 editions they are 2013 editions and father time favors nobody! Father time don't care or love nobody.
It just does it's job.
THE DUKE OF EARL OR BREWER TO START? No question JR Smith starts... Brewer is a career backup nothing more. JR has talent and I think this year he is going to explode and take off in a starting role. Avg like 18ppg, 5 assists, 2 steals. I think it threw off his rhythm last year coming off the bench. You start your best players and JR is clearly better than Brewer, which is a FACT.
Felton has entered the perfect environment. To start, the man is surrounded by scorers (Carmelo Anthony, J.R. Smith, Amar'e Stoudemire, etc.). This allows him to play the role of the distributor where he can solely focus on facilitating the offense. Felton's best year of his career was with the Knicks just two seasons ago, when he averaged 17.1 points and nine assists per game. Expect similar production out of him this season, with the exception of his ppg should go down and his assists should go up..with the targets around him he may lead the league in dimes!
NEXT UP....DO THE KNICKS HAVE THE DEEPEST BENCH IN THE NBA?????????
"Josh Harrellson was released by the Rockets today, just over a month after the Knicks dealt the power forward to Houston as part of a package for center Marcus Camby.
The Rockets cut Harrellson after signing veteran swingman Carlos Delfino this week. Now, among the four players the Knicks sent to Houston in the Camby deal, only Toney Douglas remains on their roster, after the Rockets had cut Jordan last month."
I disagree witth you that JR Smith will start. He has never started in his career, even when he was getting paid that ridiculous 50$ contract that Denver signed him too. In fact I see Kidd and Felton starting together because both can protect the ball and ensure that the ball is in the right player's hands.
I'm also sorry to burst your bubble, but the Knicks ain't going to make it to the Finals. Like every season, it will be filled champagne wishes and caviar dreams only to come crashing down. Thus my expectations are nearly as lofty as yours; however we shall all see once the season starts.
The Olys are a commercial venture that exploits athletes and their love of country. The people running it are about money and looking down on others. Why does pride in your country mean looking down on others?Just summer league bs.
“I’m as patriotic as anybody, but I would rather win the NBA championship than a gold medal,” Rivers said. “But winning a gold medal – and trying to win a gold medal – is a completely different feeling, and there’s no feeling like it.
[W]hen you’re in the NBA it’s a yearly process. Think about me: I was 0-13 in my playing career, got close a couple times. It becomes a desperate pursuit to win it. After a few more years as a coach, after nearly 20 years in the league, I finally win. There’s no pursuit like that.
“When you try to win the Olympics, you make a team and it’s a much shorter pursuit over several weeks. It’s still great, but I would guarantee you that Coach K would take the NCAA championships first. The players who say ‘I’d take the gold medal’ have never won an NBA championship.”
Read Bill Simmons, a C's guy to understand the intelligence of M. Kupchak. Then contrast that with the i-Dolt-antry of James JR. and that pedantic leftover sniffing beard, the Great Grunge.Kupchak=Nash +Gasol+Dwight, 1 chip and counting.Grunge ?
• Chris Paul, a free agent in 2013, now has to think really hard about whether the Clippers have the goods as a franchise to justify his continuing presence after next season — even if the Lakers might have this insane four-man core of Howard, Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Steve Nash only through 2013-14. (Deals for the soon-to-be 34-year-old Bryant and 32-year-old Gasol expire after that season.)
Is that saliva Peace or are u just hungry for some real hope?
Rational vs. Irrational,
1) The Lakers are old (Kobe & Nash), while the Knicks are young (JKidd, Camby)
2) The Lakers are counting on a guy with a bad back,(Howard), while the Knicks do not need Stats......Right
3) You can't count on Gasol because of last year's performance. Don't pay attention to Felt-OFF last year he was in the wrong system.
4) Mike Brown has not proven that he can coach a winner. Woody never had the right mix in Atlanta.
5) JR Smith is rational. Ron Artest is irrational
6) Nicholson or Spike. Both are past their prime.
The next 82 Games plus the playoffs for our knicks logged in this blog will be our reference to a book called "40 years later" another Banner rises in the Garden.
Forget LA...enjoy the ride.
@jtshoopsblog Yawn....... Kidd is a 12-15 minute a night player at 40 years old. He needs to protect his prostate more than most ( he's at that age) and stop drinking and driving. I know for a fact JR will start, not guessing here! Like the title of the thread says..mid season bandwagon jumpers will be called out as such.
KNICKS 2013 World Champions! BELIEVE IT!
And those "words" right there, uttered through the cloak of humility with tongue fimly in cheek, will be the ones that choke him next year as Jerry C considers who should be the X & O guy in Rio 2016. Don't P!$$ on the seat you plan to $#!T through/on.
There's a cryptic and an underlying theme that some Bloggas can peek out in the DNA of Tman posts. The formulations and postulates come with no Jut Boguin and frame Grunge DolanIT as MSMs. Plausible and with certain evidences played out by the MSMs for the world to see. Good luck to all MSMs (not yet in the KFB dictionary) doing that...just bring us da damn chip--that shiny stuff. Steady's never wrong, Steady's never right. Steady is just a pro and consistantly steady.
CP3 is already in the script (FEB 2013). I just don't want to redundantly post it and love the one's we're with.
@Statesman Like #6, but I'm not sure which is which on the others.Like them though!
Steady saw when Statesman's sources had Sir Anthony going to LA instead of The Mecca. What says Statesman now, Rational or Irrational? Which is the better team on paper and on the real tip? LTP=Let Them Play.
"The Lakers are old (Kobe & Nash), while the Knicks are young (JKidd, Camby)" UM.... Kobe and Nash are Starters... Camby and Kidd are 12 minute bench players. Statesman...are you drinking???
@Peaceman Right or wrong, if I make another 40, I'll happily kiss your.....
@Steady Doc is paid.If asked he may do it.If not he'll do something else to feed his family, great tv analyst.Kenny Smith been getting by doing a poor Doc imo for years.Doc is straight up which explains his player's loyalty. We'd be lucky to have him.The Oly's would be fortunate too.Explain why duds like Boeheim, yeah, I know zone specialist and D'Ant, yeah, I know, Euro Offense specialist, are doing on the bench with Coach K.If he needs their skills to win, winning there is EURO/Intramural BS.If a healthy Howard was playing the EURO's would be worth the value of a dropping euro.I don't watch summer reruns and us beating YMCA ass is about the same.Bring on the NBA Nuclear Ballin' Allstars.'72 said it all for me, political b.s wrapped in money.
Pro ball and Stern's bs are a virtual breath of fresh air next to the Folly's.They admit it's only about getting pd.Can't wait for the phony flagwaving to rest.
@Peaceman Delusion wrapped in illusion.Put the pipe down gently and step away from the keyboard.
Good to love the ones you're with AND keep your good name at 60 percent instead of 6 percent. LOL
If you remember I made that prediction 2 months before the press came out and said that young Buss did not want to let go of Bynum in an Anthony trade. This was not a reach...............like Artest is guaranteed (lol).
Steady the game is place on the court, not on paper. However if I played it on paper then I would say that Howard wil make Gasol better and he will just rebound, rebound, rebound, & rebound.
@Tman LOL this year we break that 40 year drought.
There was no guarantee but as sure as Peaceman owns PUP's ranch, there's a Blogga with no first born child because Peaceman told the KFB nation to go ahead and wager on Ron Ron coming (because the connect confirmed bis child's special needs.
Gentlemen just stop.spilling.good sources.
That deal was only in Statesman's mind. Buss would have shipped Bynum and 3 draft picks for Melo.
Statesman...I'll bet this is your favorite song
