Carmelo Anthony was having a late lunch at a restaurant at South Street Seaport yesterday when my friend and I approached him to say hi.
Since my friend and I were both wearing his number 7 jersey..Melo smiled and waved which made us decide to approach him. The La La-less
Melo was very receptive as we asked him a few questions. Ergo the following:
Q: Melo, how does it feel to be a Knick?
A: I'm living a dream.
Q: Do you believe there will be a season?
A: I'm Optimistic.. I hope so!
Q: You look in great shape, what's your workout schedule like?
A: I'm in the best shape of my life. Every Knick seems to have worked out excessively this Summer.
Q: Do you read the local Knick blogs?
A: No comment..( he laughs) seriously? Someone in the locker room always finds something written and we either
poke fun at it or have a group laugh. ( Melo returns to his food)
Q: Ok Melo..bring us a chip like you did in CUSE and are you coming to the Earth Wind & Fire free concert here tomorrow?
A: Their here tomorrow for free? Wow..I may stop by. What time? Reply: 5PM
Q: Melo please look up Knicksfanaticsblog.com..you don't have bigger fans.
A: Knicksfanatics what? Reply: Knicksfanaticsblog.com (Melo) I will..Peace.
I better hope that he has a phenominal season too. A team with him and Amare finishing with just 42 games is inexcusable. Melo can start his phenomenal play by playing defense to start off.
@Tman Yeah Tman..I read Isola and I like his main point:
And now Isiah is working out Amare, the same star player who claimed he had little contact with Isiah prior to signing with the Knicks. The truth, however, is that Isiah did reach out to Amar'e because when D'Antoni left Phoenix he and Amar'e didn't leave on good terms.
Isiah helped to smooth things over, as did $100 million contract.
Of course, the contract was the deciding factor. But at least now we can put to bed this spin that Isiah doesn't have any influence with the Knicks.
He helped with Amar'e.
He helped with Melo and he'll help with CP3.
LOOKS LIKE CP3 will be Knick ..that was his goal from the moment of his toast at Melo's wedding. LGK
@slapdoghoops Agreed. Moreover if you watched the playoffs..Melo played fantastic D. New Year..new play!
Would -you guys please play some D so I can save my job-Son.He says himself he is not a D coach, but a coach. What the hell does that mean except Mike's out of here and he becomes "interim".Wrong guy to take over, see Atlanta's record, while there was improvement statistically, those guys never really showed up in the big moments.
