AMEN TO OUR BLACK PRINCE.
Carmelo Anthony, Amar'e Stoudemire playing in charity game at FIU, where Isiah Thomas coaches.
The Heat's Wade, James and Chris Bosh are the unofficial hosts for the Oct. 8 event that will take place at Florida International University, where Thomas is the head coach. Moreover, the former Knicks president helped organize the game, which will also feature Chris Paul and Kevin Durant. Several NBA players, including Stoudemire and Joe Johnson, have been working out at FIU with Thomas during the off-season.
This must be further PROOF that Isiah has no influence in today's NBA!
Thomas, the former Knicks president, Woodson and Knicks interim president Glen Grunwald played together at Indiana University. Thomas said Woodson recruited him to the school.
"I think it's going to be a great combination," Thomas said on Sid Rosenberg's radio show on WQAM in Miami. "They'll get along well. Woody definitely understands defense. He learned it from the greatest mind in the game in Coach Knight. The way we were taught to play defense and defensive concepts, he'll be a great fit there. And he gets along well with players and be demanding of players."
You're shytin' me.He may be a great fit, but not with No'D'Antoni, he's gone, history and no mystery, done after the first legit losing streak.Probably feeling out his new job in Euroland right now.As for Stud and Melo, Woody wasn't too convincing to Josh Smith and co.They listened when they wanted too, a few games better each season, tried to get it up in the playoffs, but not too legit to quit when the flak got serious in the eat what you kill playoffs.Killas keep an edge all season long. You can't take off time for photo shoots.Woodrow is a decent enough guy and coach, he just doesn't have enough major league clout (see rings on his fingers) to MAKE these guys THINK D, BEND THEIR BACKS and WORK hard.As E-City once PROpathetically said, They signed me the way I am, so why should I change?Melo and Stud have to change or we're spinnin our wheels here.Good luck with that Once and Future Coach Woodson. Here's an idea, bring in Coach Knight as an assistant. It sounds nuts but look what the old dudes on the bench in Chi and LA did for Phi-harmonic?
"Thomas said, "I root for the Knicks. I want them to win. I'm always going to be a close personal friend with [owner] Jim [Dolan]. I root for the organization. I want everyone to do well. If there's any way I can help them, I will and I can."
The Post has reported Thomas would not be considered a candidate for the Knicks presidency if Dolan decides not to go with Grunwald long-term. When asked about returning to the Garden, Thomas said, "Who knows?"
Yeah right, "Only the Shadow knows".WE KNOW!!!!Grunwald knows the deal and so does everyone else, it's not, "Who knows".It's when the deal drops.Deal with it y'all. It ain't the end of the world. It's just another painful page in Gullible's.LGNBA ya dumb ass twits.
At least someone is making sense.
"I've been fighting this for 20 years. They laugh at me and say I'm a dinosaur. But I coached (Mater Dei) high school and made 17 cents an hour for 16 years. I'd love to see some of these suckers, from David Stern to everybody on the player's side and coaches, on a yellow bus. They'd be out of there in two minutes."
Glass, whose father Joe represents former Knicks coach Larry Brown, wrote the book "Taking Shots", which details his experiences as a coach and agent. He's always been outspoken and jokes that neither side wants him anywhere near the negotiations.
"I have made more than I deserve from a kids' game," Glass adds. "I'm grateful for it. I'm not biting the hands that feed me. I'm trying to correct what I think is wrong."
If they don't settle quick these dudes need to be certifide certifiably insane rather than decertifying anything.Imagine a tea party owner who demands protection in a contract against himself? And these bytches are the same ones (ritch byotches) screaming vs Obama's socialized medicene?Glass states the obvious, the greed on both sides.Has anyone said the word "rollback on even a hot dog, let alone a ticket. The fans are to blame here too.If you didn't pay ridiculous prices, yeah, keep your ass home and watch cable, they wouldn't have the money to rape us all.A deal will be cut and the BIGGEST LOSER will be the fans who feeds the greed frenzy on both sides.Go to the park and shoot baskets with your kid instead of watching millionaire players act like kids and owners act like bullies.Remember when players NEEDED an off season job. These guys don't!These charlatans, both sides, sell dreams and wishfulfilment.Sounds like your neighborhood crack dealer. You should be better than that. You should want more out of life for your kids and yourself.Man up and spend some more quality time with your family.Watch college, hs and hurt the pro sponsors, they're always listening.Maybe something good will come our way instead of whiners who feel their sweat is worth millions more than your own. It's a kids game.Making money from it is a privilege, not a right.A plague on both their houses and a blessing on your own.Fycke MSG and their carpetbagging owners and management.Theirs probably not a real Nyc heart in the whole bunch.LGK
Just returned for a "fan" service for Vesta Williamson near Riverside Dr in NYC.
Vesta was noted for signature "Congardulations song".
Vesta was the epitome of beauty at a time when there were no "Weaves" going on with Black Woman. Please check out Vesta's Dec, 2010 recording in which she sang and looked stunning at 53 years old.
Her recording failed to chart which may have sent her into a 'Phyllis Hyman" duplication. Be that it may ..Vesta took her life last week from perscription pain killers. RIP Vesta! See you again on the otherside~
People are not soundbites. You have to take them as they are, the good with the bad, measure that and move on accordingly.Any discussion or comparison to Malcolm has to be filtered through Manning Marable recent scholarly tome, the Re-invention of Malcolm.Point be, placing human beings on pedestals is a mistake.Judging them with their pimples and dimples makes far more sense.Isiah has his points good and bad.Ask J.Dumars, Bobby Knight, SMarbury, the daughter he dimed out, his first son who has no relationship with him,J.Dolan, C.Dolan, D.Stern, Mr Davidson, a cast of former CBA owners, a lady from MSG(A.B.), the FBI, Detroit division, the young NBA brothers who wouldn't play hard for him and got him canned, the young NBA brothers who seem to respect him and a cast of many others who have touched or been touched by his life and times. Is this fair?Should it affect his chance of running the Knicks again?Well that's not up to you and I.Jimmy Cablevision will make that call.Check that, it seems he already made that call a long time ago.The real question I'd ask is why Jimmy ever put Ike on the bench which was clearly a long step towards dismissal.Maybe Daddy and the Commish had given James an ultimatum. But with Stern the Unforgiving on his way out.Once he delivers this new contract he'll take his parachute and move on to bigger things on the national scene.C.Dolan won't care about Zeke coming back as long as the money continues to come in.Back to Malcolm, read the book.Ultimately a flawed man who overcomes his obstacles is far more interesting and admirable than the inhuman statuary you ask children to genuflect to.Washington had slaves (he freed them on his death, Martha refused) MLK had woman, Malcolm had.. read the book.A man must judge himself first and act accordingly for the day he meets his Maker. The rest falls where it may.Do I care if Zeke runs the Knicks? No, I can turn my TV to another channel. If I couldn't I might feel differently.I give Isiah credit, he will not leave this mortal NBA coil willingly, but ultimately he seems to siphon his fans and critics into two distinct camps by the use of the adage, "A man who will not stand up for something will fall for anything,'.Good luck to both of you. It's still a beautiful game.LGK
The Lockout will end soon. I for one agree that Isiah Thomas should have the same 2nd chance Larry Brown had to make an impact in the NBA as a GM/Coach.
Why is it that Black man seems to get seldom if ever at chance for redemption?
All one would have to do is look at the most current Knicks blog which has the most traffic " THE KNICKS BLOG" and you see the most vile ignorance vetted against Isiah Thomas as their Calling card for acceptance among the lower IQ bloggers ( which is the Majority on that blog in any IQ straw poll.) Keep in mind a Casper look alike is the Mime to translate his own opinion to his flock with his "Talking Paper." Aka Tommy Dees.
Don't confuse me with insulting the entire Blog..there are many who write there that have perhaps the most intelligent insight that could ever be found on the internet! However, they are as guilty as the Thomas haters who do nothing but accept the fallicy that he inherited a world beater to only break up a magnificent collection of skiled players ready to claim the Chip as their
inherent right as a talented team!
My Final thought? If Isiah brings Chris Paul aboard with our current Roster..
let him have a chance for redemption. Why Not? Please don't let me get MODI in the House as a backup!
Ah, the long lost post.Find it in the trash?Unfortunately, it is what it is, compounded by the excuse a shorter season will bring.I'm not gonna forgive or forget so easily.Sure you can blow me? off with the old he's only one person, who gives an MSG shyte...Better look behind me, you in trouble.
Yes Sir! Sensei Sir! Well put T'Man. That's one hell of a cosmic pimp slap! Very well said. @Tman
@Lives A giant re-awakens from his Jerseian slumber.Get the mar(a)bles out your mouth.Hope all is well.I know the NBA lames ruined your Vegas trip, on the other hand your wife has more money in her pocket.Mmmmmh!
PS. Stern believes he is the pre-emminant Commish in sports. He will not allow a season ending skirmish to be the coda to his career.Get your radio lips ready to roar, you'll need them!Best wishes. T
@Peaceman Problem is that giving Zeke credit is the ultimate catch 22. You give him credit for doing so given Zeke and Jimmy's close relationship. Tampering charges come up. You keep quite, if he indeed help facilitate that Gotham big three and Zeke continues his existence as Genghis Kahn on the Knicks Golden Years under Frank Layden.
Cousin Fester? @Peaceman
@Peaceman Nate the Skate was great, DeWitt Clinton Grad from the Bx.He did it all, however Joe, the Destroyer, Hammond from Harlem USA was even better. As for Kareem's best move he's been married 3 times with a bunch of very nice kids, ones a doctor.Hopefully he's happy. He's making a movie about the greatest of the old barnstorming teams, the Harlem Rens.Looking forward to it.By the way the kid in the commersh uses a jumper to describe "good".Kareem was discouraged from using his J because it kept him away from the hoop for a bound. He did have one.I saw him in the schoolyard long ago and he had a nice little j.The man had game, all kinds. Thanks for the memories.
@Tman I miss the convo with you bro, but I'll be back in full force sooner rather than later. Refreshed and improved, I hope. I am intrigued that most analysts, including Larry Coon, are throwing the players under the owners' bus claiming they have no leverage. But as usual, you are more spot on than the paid thinkers. A protracted struggle will hurt the owners and their product in the short long-term.
As for the Malcolm X-Isiah Thomas analogy? Keeps the discussion lively although the gravity of the comparison is akin to comparing Madonna to Fannie Lou Hamer. Still Glad to see Peaceman, you and the crew keeping the flames alive.
Life is good and very, very busy bro. When you're in the Princeton area, give your cousin a holler. I shall return.
@Orange_and_Blue Zeke can get credit up the azz!
As long as he holds no offical title with the Knicks.
Fuch the haters.... I'll be at the garden the first time CP3 is leading our charge!
It's all good here.Looking forward to your return as are all the brothers.Didn't want to make the comparo that you put so aptly.Whenever you're ready I got the reading specs on.Enjoy life, my man.Every day counts.T@Lives
Making trades from desperation cuts your own nuts off. That is a Zeke attribute.Walsh is out because he wouldn't ride the Dolan train and overpay for Melo.Melo could have been cheaper. My second problem with Zeke, #1= leaving his daughter out to dry for his sins, what kind of man does that? is his desperate need to reform his rep. This should be bizness, not personal. When ego restoration is involved reason goes out the window.Who needs that. That said look at the schmucks in charge now and how they've done.Zeke can't do much worse unless Melo and Stud go nuts and dis him.Hmmm, we've seen that too.But Zeke hasn't murdered anyone I'm aware of.I'd give him a third chance ince I'm a sucker for a little pain.Oh, strike will end soon.Der Stern is large and definitely in charge. He's manured this thing to where he wants it to be.He wants out and needs this for his exit strategy to work@Peaceman
