LETS BREAK DOWN CRAWFORD'S PHONE COVERSATION LAST NIGHT.
According to "Jason Qucik, The Oregonian" via phone call:
Jamal Crawford says the Portland Trail Blazers are “right there” in a three-team battle to sign him to a free agent deal.
“They are right there, definitely,’’ Crawford said by phone late Tuesday night. “I’d be lying if I said they weren’t.’’
Crawford, 31, said the Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks are also in the running for his services. He said he expects to make a decision this week, and will factor three criteria in making his decision: The team’s style of play, where the team is headed, and how he fits in with the coach.
1. The teams style of play. Jamal was born to play with Melo & Stat... big plus to the Knicks
2. Where the team is headed. Portland & the Kings are lottery bound. The Knicks are headed deep into the playoffs. Big Plus Knicks!
3. How he fits in with the coach. This pretty much seals Dantoni's fate. The Knicks went to HIS HOME to RECRUTE HIM.
BEHIND DANTONI'S shoulder is a Crawford supporter. BIG PLUS TO THE KNICKS!
LAKERS ARE REPORTED TO BE BACK IN CP3 TRADE TALKS..... TRUE! BUT PLEASE LOOK UP "TALK" IN THE D I C T I O N A R Y.
Trust me "Peaceman", your apology is ridiculously unneccessary. Your source had viable information that wasn't far fetched. If so, this blog topic would have faded faster than Andrew "Dice" Clay. (Notice how our lives are more enriching not having to hear anymore Mother Goose jokes....) However, life happens, and things develope.
Just a thought.......This season is very short and with Paul only signing only a one year extension, could it be possible, that the other owners/Stern, may be just sticking, undoubtedly the worst owner in the NBA, with the decision to trade Paul by next season's trading deadline to the Knicks, or end up being the one who let Paul get away for nothing..
Wishful thinking for the holiday season.....
"We’ll see you on the highlight reels, CP3, but we won’t be seeing you in the playoffs."
Chris Sheridan keeping it real
My Apoligies to all who are hurting as I am right now. The "source" is as close to the action as it can be however, he's not s as involved as he normally is due to
him being human like the rest of us and circumstances beyond his control.
However, I will not make excuses ..He was wrong. But..you must admit the knicks put up a good fight to get so involved that the League Blocked the Lakers twice, the Clips once. He had true insight and I 100% trust him in the future. Time to move on. O&B and Lives...are we having a Live Blog this Saturday for the Nets game? Thanks for all you die hard Knick fans that found others just like you...
Let's sign S. Williams, hope BDiddy doesn't get claimed and we can call it a day. You know, now that I think about it. We definitely have assets to trade for D12 at the trade deadline! If he was willing to sign with NJ,.... Just saying! Let the rumors begin. LOL.
ESPN is reporting that Chis Paul HAS to stay in Clip land for 2years.... My SOURCE WAS WRONG.....WOW!
Marc Stein reported CP3 agreed to the 1 year extension. He will be with them through 2013. Repeat, he won't be a free agent next summer. Bummer.
also paul is a FA in 2013. Part of the deal was that he had to accept his player option for this upcoming year.
Im more focused on whats taking J Crossover so long and whether we will make a move for Baron Davis.
Can we stop talking about how he is a FA in 2012. You are all banking on the fact that our stars will re-structure, IT isn't gonna happen. Can we just move on..
If Paul agreed to extension than he is stupid as shit. If that's the case I don't think I want him. Who am I kidding, I want CP3 on the Knicks BADLY
Peaceman, How do you see this ending for Paul? Will he go as a rental? Will Stern cave and send him to the Knicks?
I do apologize for not following previous threads the last couple of days.....just trying to stay up on the current possibilities.
@JoeJC JoeJC... despite the reports the Paul will play the 2012-13 season with the Clips...The FACT is it was a hand shake deal...nothing in writing..no ink and signature. I'm not sure why the MSM is not reporting that? Let Griffin get hurt the way he plays and I wonder how much that "hand shake" will mean?
@fmart1557 No..I'm done. This really hurt! I truly believed it!
Let's see what the Knicks answer with tomorrow! They have to upgrade at PG and TD and Bibby are not the answer!
@fmart1557 noooo haha.. We could sign bdiddy to the minimum and hope he heals back to full strength.
@Peaceman Yes agreed. Nash or Felton in the 2012 market I say
@Peaceman So What. Your source was on the money with Melo and may have been right up to the point before Chandler became available. Then the Knick brass made the correct choice in getting a 7'1 Center with an upside, and filling a huge defensive/rebounding need over a point guard who can be replaced more readily. Deron Williams will be available in 2012--if contracts can be restructured. If not DW, I am sure other solid pg's will come abroad.
Anyway it was a great ride! The blog has never been more active and many of our newbies have provided solid commentary. Good job keeping the blog poppin. We have an exciting season to look forward to. LGK
@Peaceman no one is right 100% of the time and these things are never guarantees. It was fun... now lets win some games !!
@Peaceman No shit. He will be a FA in 2013. Now can we please all move on? Lets finally stop speculating and start talking about the current team and what lies ahead
The restructure scenario was more plausible for the Knicks at the end of this season. Not now, I believe.@jsk793
I'm glad the Knicks can now focus on building up their roster. With the CP3 Distraction out of their way.@BlueBlood
@BlueBlood Crawford wants more money. He ruled us out
@BlueBlood knicks are out of crawford sweepstakes
@jsk793 Lets just wait until this deal is signed..why? Do I really have to say?
@jsk793 One question, Why is the thought of a restructure beyond reason., You realize that this is not like the NFL when a player restructures and gives up money. The NBA restructure the players DONT lose money. They get a longer contract and the money is simply moved.
Tell me about it!!!! I'm really pist if he really did sign that extension lol like what does he see in that team lol -__- so u think it is pretty much finalized right? or what can it go the other way lol some how?
@JoeJC It's just for this year..then he can bounce..if Sterrn don't bounce it first!
@Peaceman@fmart1557 It is okay. We still have a very bright future without Paul. Whatever happens in two years happens. I honestly think Stern let the trade to go through to get back at CP3 for trying to force a trade to his first choice teams. After all he is on the "Clippers." It's better than him being on the Lakers or Boston
Don't let it get you down my brother. We move forward.
If we can get BDiddy, then we can include TD in a trade for J. Crawford. Not too farfetched. Only need for J. Crawford to wait 2 days. If not, there are other moves we can entertain.
@jsk793 I'm ready..however..I don't want to wake up to new shit!
@Chr1s112 Well idk, I highly doubt it gets blocked due to what the Hornets get in return. Let him fail miserably in LA and then he will come running to NY
Would not be surprised if it was blocked again for "basketball reasons" LOL!
